Plant spacing
There are numerous factors which influence plant spacing including life expectancy of the or-
chard, climate, inherent tree vigor, ultimate tree size desired, presence and use of an irrigation
system, equipment size, and cultural practices.
Typically plant spacing ranges from 4.5 m to 9 m in-row and 5.5 m to 9 m between-row.
In general recommended spacings are 6 m to 7.5 m in-row and 6.5 m to 8 m between rows.
As more dwarfing rootstocks are found or developed plant spacing will decrease.
